ضمن مشاركاتها المهمة خلال انعقاد مؤتمرالاطراف للمناخ28 في دبي, قامت الجمعية الهندسية للتطوير و البيئة -بالتعاون مع شبكة (رائد) و الجمعية الكويتية لحماية البيئة بتنظيم الحدث الجانبي و هي جلسة حوارية حول أنظمة الغذاء والإنذار المبكر في مناطق مختلفة في المنطقة العربية و غرب افريقيا
و تكونت لجنة الجلسة من متحدثين من العراق و مصر و المغرب و الجزائر و السودان و قدم رئيس الجمعية الهندسية للتطوير و البيئة عرضاً حول مفهوم الامن الغذائي و منظومة الانذار المبكر بضمنها التحديات و الحلول الممكنة للحفاظ على السيادة الغذائية وتحسين سبل عيش المجتمعات الريفية الضعيفة والحد من الخسائر والأضرار
كما و اوضح طبيعة نظام الانذار المبكر في العراق و التحديات التي يواجهها و كيفية الوصول الى تطبيق نظام كفوء و فعال لتقليل الخسائر و الاضرار المتوقعه المتسببة عن التغيرات المناخية و الاستعداد لاستيعاب اثارها السلبية و لرصد المعلومات المتعلقة بمخاطر الأمن الغذائي خصوصاً بعد تضمن موضوع نظام الانذار المبكر في رؤية العراق للمناخ للعام 2030 و دمجها في خطة التكيف المحلية و الوطنية

As part of its important participation during the COP28 climate conference in Dubai, the Engineering Association for Development and Environment -EADE, in cooperation with the (Raed) Network and the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, organized the side event, a dialogue session on food and early warning systems in various regions in the Arab region and the West Africa.
The session committee consisted of speakers from Iraq, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Sudan. EADE Director presented on the concept of food security and the early warning system, its challenges and possible solutions to maintain food sovereignty, improve the livelihoods of vulnerable rural communities, and reduce losses and damages.
He also explained the nature of the early warning system in Iraq, the challenges it faces, and how to implement an efficient and effective system to reduce expected losses and damages caused by climate change, occupation of its negative effects, and monitor information related to food security risks, especially after including the topic of the early warning system in Iraq’s climate vision for the year 2030 and integrating it into the local adaptation plan LAP and the national adaptation plan NAP.
