حضر وفد الجمعية الهندسية للتطوير و البيئة عدد من الجلسات الحوارية التي ينظمها الجناح العراقي في مؤتمرالاطراف للمناح 28 المنعقد حالياً في دبي
و كانت احدى الجلسات تناقش التنوع الاحيائي و الاهوار في جنوب العراق و الضرر الذي لحق به على اثر التغيرات المناخية
شارك في النقاش متحدثين من الوفد الحكومي والمنظمات الدولية و المحلية بحضور الدكتور جاسم الفلاحي وكيل وزارة البيئة
اما الجلسة الثانية فقد ركزت على موضوع خطة التكيف المحلية و خطة التكيف الوطنية حيث تحدث الدكتور يوسف مؤيد مدير التغيرات المناخية في وزارة البيئة عن التقدم الحاصل في انجاز هذه الوثائق.. و تم التطرق الى واقع التغيرات المناخية في اقليم كردستان و تأثيرها على الجانب السياحي و الحاجة الى الدعم لتجاوز هذه التحديات

The delegation of the Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE attended a number of dialogue sessions organized by the Iraqi pavilion at the COP28 climate conference currently being held in Dubai.
One of these sessions discussed biodiversity and the marshes in southern Iraq and the exposed damage as a result of climate change.
Speakers from the Iraqi government delegation and international and local organizations participated in the discussion, in the presence of Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi, the deputy of the Ministry of Environment.
The second session focused on the topic of the local adaptation plan and the national adaptation plan, where Dr. Youssef Moayed, Director of Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment, spoke about the progress made in completing these documents. Also, the status of climate change in the Kurdistan region and its impact on the tourism aspect was discussed and the confirmation of the needed for support to overcome these challenges.
